Telegent Systems and Innocomm used the Computex Taipei 2010 to introduce the Innocomm Shark, the first Android-powered smartphone to incorporate Telegent mobile TV technology. We’ve already talked about the Shark in the past, but this time we have the information straight from the horse’s mouth.
As you may know, in addition to running Android OS, the Shark will come with a 3.2-inch capacitive WVGA touchscreen, 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, microSD expansion slot, and of course analog TV receiver — that’s where Telegent comes in. The good thing is that you can record TV clips to a microSD card and watch them at a later point.
According to Innocomm’s President Paul Wang, Innocomm Shark should appeal to operators seeking to offer analog TV capable smartphone to their users. The company believes the market for such a device is in Asia, Latin America and parts of Europe.
We still don’t know Shark’s exact release date nor how much it will cost once released. As soon as we hear something new on that front, you’ll be the first to know.
