Qualcomm-owned FLO TV is calling on Android and Brew developers in search of the “next great app” for the company’s mobile TV network. Interested companies and individuals can submit their apps in few categories, including sports, news, games, social networking, entertainment, lifestyle and media. Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of judges comprised of FLO TV and industry experts.

Developers compete for a total of $25,000 in cash prizes that will be awarded to first, second and third place winners, along with the prospect of commercial agreements to include the winning application(s) in current or future FLO TV products.

As part of the promotion activities, FLO TV will host an informational session at Qualcomm’s Uplinq 2010 developer event in San Diego, California. The session will be held at 4pm on July 1 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, Room Randall E.

Developers can submit their concepts until the end of July. Finalist will be notified on 13th of August and then have more time (until October 1st) to submit their final apps. Winners will be announced on 15th of October.

If everything goes as planned, FLO TV will repeat the challenge next year…
