If you’re in Canada, and have been scared off with all of the recent iPhone 4 Antenna mumbo jumbo, there are a ton of other options for you. One such option comes to us from TELUS. They’ve just announced the Black version of the 8GB iPhone 3GS. The 3GS will replace the 3G (available now for $9 on a 3-year term), so look for any remaining 3G’s to fly out the door in short order. The 8GB 3GS will run for $99 on a 3-year term, and come with iOS 4 right out-of-the-box. Cool. I should note, the device hasn’t popped up on the TELUS website just yet, but it should soon… so stay tuned.
Getting back to the whole iPhone 4 antenna issue… I’m a little torn on the whole thing. On one hand, if this does turn out to be a widespread problem, is this not a GLARING error in the engineering of the device? On the other, are there really a lot of folks out there that hold their phones jammed into their hand like that? It’s all just silly… and when I heard Steve Jobs’ comments that ‘you’re just not doing it right‘… Oh good grief, don’t even get me started.
I think when I do pick up my iPhone 4 I’ll hold it like an 80 year-old lady holding her teacup… index finger and thumb holding the phone firmly, for perfect reception 😛
