Coastal Angler Magazine is out with its smartphone app, initially available for Android and BlackBerry with the iPhone version set to hit the Apple AppStore in the near future. Called FishOn, the application allows users to access up-to-the minute local weather, marine conditions, tides, catch photos, fishing reports, information on conservation, towing, and fishing licenses, and a fish scale.
Moreover, FishOn can also direct anglers to marine fuel docks, wreck sites and reefs, as well as help you locate the closest tackle shop and provide you with the Google Maps-powered directions.
In a nutshell, we’re talking about an app that will certainly help fishermen in the U.S. and Bahamas (which are covered areas) better manage their business, sport, relax time or whatever they’re doing. 🙂
What’s especially interesting is that initially it wasn’t the iPhone app Coastal Angler Magazine has released, but Android and BlackBerry apps. Usually it’s the iPhone app that’s eventually followed with the mobile app for other platforms.
And you can grab FishOn from here – links to all available versions are there. The app costs $4.99.
