Rogers has announced that they’ll be launching the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate “in the coming weeks”. They don’t mention dates or prices, of course, but we can likely expect it before the school year kicks in again. Just as a quick refresher, the Galaxy S Captivate has a 4″ Super AMOLED display, 1 GHz Hummingbird processor that excels with 3D graphics, a 5 megapixel camera with 720 video recording (no flash), Wi-Fi b/g/n, and Android 2.1 with TouchWiz.
The Galaxy S family has spread itself across all of the major U.S. carriers, but this is the first we’ve seen of it in Canada. I’d wager that Telus and Bell will be announcing their own variants, like maybe the Vibrant or Fascinate in good time. As it turns out, Bell just announced the Galaxy S Vibrant yesterday. If any of you fellow Canadians are thinking of picking up the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate on Rogers, be sure to take a gander at our review.
