Bell HTC Legend, we hardly new you. The Android 2.1 powered device, which launched on Bell only a couple of months ago, has already been tagged with ‘end of life’ status. What gives!?
Our friends at MobileSyrup have it on fairly good authority that the issues here are supply constraints from the manufacturer. In other words, the devices aren’t flying out the door as fast as they’d like, or, HTC is focusing their efforts on other devices that sell at a more frequent pace, and in turn makes them more money. Sounds reasonable to me.
To further confirm this, if you pop over to Bell’s HTC Legend page, there’s no ‘build your solution’ button available for the device. Sure, you can check out the specs, the pricing, and a bunch of other stuff… but the ability to checkout and buy the device is long gone.
If you wanted one of these and you’re now a little pissed off, Bell has these parting words for you:
‘clients who are interested in the HTC Legend should be redirected to Bell’s terrific line-up of Android smartphones’.
In other words, you lose, please try again.
If you need a refresher on the Bell HTC Legend and what it has to offer… it packs Android 2.1, a 3.2″ AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, 5 megapixel camera with digital zoom, LED flash and video… HTC Sense UI, 512 MB of internal memory (expandable to 32 GB via microSD), 3.5 mm headset jack and speakerphone. A solid feature-set for a device that has walked the long and winding road all to fast.
