Reports are circulating that DROID 2 owners are receiving their first official OTA update from Verizon Wireless. The update is a minor one an reportedly does not fixing that potentially troubling signal issue. The update will bring DROID 2 owners up to baseband version BP_C_01.09.05P and includes the following improvements:
- Enabled text and picture message scrolling.
- Streamlined set up of Visual Voice Mail feature.
- Improved contact sync with Corporate Exchange categories and groups.
- View accurate contact pictures when reviewing Recent Call Log.
Not much to crow about in this update but it is encouraging to see carriers and OEM’s actively working on a handset up to launch and then beyond. If this update follows Verizon’s typical launch schedule, then we can expect to see the update hit a small number of users today, followed by increasing numbers each day forward. Anyone get the update yet? Report in when you do!
