Yeah, we know, a lot of smartphones can be found for about a penny online, but this one we’d actually consider buying. While it’s not the Epic 4G, the Captivate is one of the nicer looking devices in the Galaxy S line. The Captivate feels more solid in the hand, and the design is less iPhone-like than that of the original Galaxy S and Vibrant. Plus the over all design is just that much better to look at. I usually buy my handsets outright to avoid contracts, but the Captivate could be that one Android smartphone that I’d sign two years of my life away for. Too bad I’m not willing to go to AT&T anytime soon.
So if you were holding out for this phone, the time to snag one is now. We don’t know how long this deal will last, but we can’t imagine it will be available for too much longer. The 4 inch Super AMOLED display found on all of the Galaxy S devices is just stunning, and is much better than regular AMOLED screens you’d find of phones like the Nexus One or Droid Incredible. This is a multimedia powerhouse of a phone, and the screen just awesome to watch videos on. Color reproduction is rich and vivid, and you’ll find yourself surprised just how enjoyable to watch a full length movie on the device is.
