Thomson Reuters’ legal research system WestlawNext now has an iPad app for lawyers on the go. Apparently, iPhone’s tiny screen is not “good enough” for lawyers doing research, but the iPad is just perfect, hence the media/news company decided to try their luck with such a product [iPad app].
Available as a free download to all current subscribers of WestlawNext, iPad application allows legal professionals to conduct research and organize their findings using nothing but their fingers. Once you find something interesting, you can take notes and organize articles into folders to access them on your desktop or laptop computer — the syncing capability is also built-in. Of course, some things can also be shared with a colleague (or client) via email, which is handy and kinda expected with every iPad app.
Commenting on the iPad app release, Thomson Reuters’ Andy Martens (senior vice president of New Product Development for Legal) said: “The WestlawNext iPad app is the latest example of an ongoing commitment to enhance the capabilities of WestlawNext and fundamentally improve the research experience for legal professionals. Today, we are providing our customers the research tools they need to create a more desirable research experience, increase their productivity and provide the confidence that their research is as complete and thorough as it can possibly be.”
