Motorola planning an Android surprise for Oprah fans today (UPDATED: it’s the Defy for T-Mobile!)

Motorola announced that it will share an exciting announcement on Oprah’s farewell season opener today. Details are sparse but it involves Android and will be a special surprise. Oprah has supported Android in the past. She is a known Evo 4G owner and has pimped the MyTouch 3G with a coupon code that offered the handset for $100 last year. Other than those few clues, I have no idea what Motorola has planned. Will it be a new product announcement, free phones for the audience, or another coupon code to get a discounted Android handset?

The Oprah Show will air today at 4:00PM in your local time zone. Anyone going to endure, oops, I mean tune in for an hour of Oprah to see what Motorola has planned?

UPDATED: Motorola’s press release hit the wire in advance of the show and confirmed that it will be launching the Motorola Defy for T-Mobile in time for the holiday season.
