Android-powered eLocity A7 tablet up for pre-order on Amazon

If you’ve been looking for an alternative Android-powered tablet computer, you may want to consider the eLocity A7. The 7-inch device measures 8.2×4.8×0.5 inches and weighs just 1.02 pounds, while boasting the familiar specs (for an Android tablet) that include such things as 512MB of DDR2 RAM, 1.3-megapixel camera, NVIDIA Tegra II T-20 processor with a 1MB L2 cache (very cool), 4GB of internal flash storage, 802.11b/g WiFi connectivity, Android 2.2 (Froyo) Bluetooth, 1080p HDMI output and a USB 2.0 port.

In other words, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy Tab without 3G connectivity. To be fair, it’s also bit uglier than Samsung’s baby, but there’s the lower price tag – it could be pre-ordered for $369.99 from Amazon (free shipping included).

We all expect to see more similar devices being introduced in the next couple of weeks and month, and when the Christmas shopping season starts, we’ll have tons of options to choose from. At the moment, Samsung Tab tops my list…
