Shooger, a mobile coupon platform with more than 100,000 local and national deals from 50,000 merchants, updated its iPhone app with support for barcodes, both standard and QR codes. However, it’s not something you and me as consumers will benefit from – this update is made for merchants who will be able to scan the codes at the point of sale for tracking and reporting purposes. In that sense, merchants are now able to run limited redemption offers and for instance designate the number of redemptions per person and in aggregate.
In addition, sharing is built inside the app so you can tell your friends on Facebook and Twitter about some good offer you’ve just found.
Finally, thanks to the account linking, consumers can sync their Shooger.com and app accounts, to “clip and follow” online and have immediate access to the results of those actions in the mobile app.
By the time you’re reading this, you’ve probably already updated the Shooger app, but just in case you still don’t have it installed on your iDevice, click the link below and start saving! 😉
