When I heard SEGA was pushing back the release of Sonic The Hedgehog 4 to the latter part of this year, I was definitely bummed just like most Sonic fans were. Judging by the latest trailer SEGA has released, it looks like the game is going to be well worth the wait.
The trailer is entitled “Lost Labyrinth” and it shows off new gameplay footage of Sonic making his way across one of the game’s levels. As is expected out of a Sonic title, it looks like his speed has finally made a return as well as some classic gameplay mechanics such as having to breathe bubbles during underwater segments of a level or ricocheting from jump pad to jump pad at an amazing speed. That’s not all as Sonic is also seen rolling on a giant ball and riding a mine cart through the level.
The trailer also contains an updated release date window. SEGA tagged the end of the trailer with a “Fall 2010.” Now let’s just hope this release date window sticks as I’ve been anxiously awaiting the triumphant return of Sonic The Hedgehog for quite some time.
