Unlocked and Loaded: Koodo Unlocks Customer Devices for $50

While Koodo Mobile certainly isn’t the biggest or most popular carrier in Canada, they’ve recently begun doing something that will win them a few fans. They’ve started unlocking their devices for customers.

Well, it’s not as cut-and-dry as that… But yes, devices will be unlocked. 🙂

If you’re a Koodo customer in good standing (you’ve paid your bill in full for 3 months in a row), you can call 1-866-99-KOODO to begin the process of unlocking your device. A word of warning however, if you had designs on unlocking your device via a third party, Koodo will give you a slap on the wrist. If they discover a 3rd party unlock, your phone warranty will no longer be valid. Just FYI.

I suspect some may take advantage of the unlock service. However, knowing that only 3 devices are available on their new HSPA+ network (the Nokia 3710, Samsung Elevate and INQ Chat 3G), it’s not like they’re going to be overwhelmed with requests.
