CarZar is a new mobile location-based social automotive service and iPhone app, unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The main idea is to allow consumers to share their passion for cars in an easy to use way. All you have to do is start the CarZar app on your iPhone, snap a vehicle image and CarZar tags the location. Once uploaded, you get to earn points and badges, while at the same time allowing other members of the community to participate with their comments. Other users can also be asked to help tag a vehicle if you can’t identify it.
Then there’s the “following” feature, using which you can watch how other “CarZars” are using the service. Likewise, they [other users] can also keep up with your car-spotting activities.
Of course, the sharing component is also built inside the app, leveraging social networks like Facebook and Twitter, as well as location-based services such as Foursquare and Gowalla.
Finally, you can create your profile on TheCarZar.com to further get some points in the community and eventually achieve the highest rank – The CarZar.
