Riverside County California resident William Atwood, age 45, has a 17 year old daughter and he’ll do everything in his power to protect her. He’s going to stand trial for several charges, namely assault, after he discovered that his little princess got a racy text message from a man identified as Justin Moore. According to Justin, William convinced him to come over to his home in January and then fired shotgun into the air, commanded him to remove all his clothes, except his underwear, tied him up, shot him with a stun gun, and then threatened to bury him in an Indian reservation.
If the above paragraph didn’t make you laugh, you’re messed up in the head. Now whatever your views are of sexting, understand that this is what teenagers do. Just because the game of “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours” is being played with devices that cost millions of dollars of research and development funding to invent and manufacture doesn’t mean that this wouldn’t have happened some other way. People in the pre-internet and pre-phone world had sex too you know.
Should this man go to jail for scaring the living hell out of some poor punk kid who wanted to slip his ding a ling inside a teenager? I don’t think so. The effects of a stun gun are temporary, this coming from experience, and you don’t really need any time to bounce back from being hit with one. Justin has all the right in the world to complain, but had he been pulling the same sort of shenanigans 100 years ago, and William actually aimed his shotgun at Justin’s face and pulled the trigger, no one would have said a damn thing.
What do you think? Let kids be kids or throw the insane daddy in jail so that his teenage daughter has to grown up by herself?
