eMarketer is out with its latest report on mobile marketing, predicting that this year will end with $743.1 million in total mobile ad spending, representing a more than 25% increase over last year’s forecast. Moreover, the research company’s projections are up on the order of 25% to 35% per year through 2014.

Among the factors behind this increase in spending, eMarketer’s Noah Elkin points to major acquisitions of mobile ad networks by Google and Apple, rising adoption of smartphones and the launch of the Apple iPad and the rapid revitalization of the tablet market.

The report goes on, exploring in great details all of the factors mentioned above and concluding that as consumers spend an ever-increasing amount of time in front of their mobile devices, marketers can scarcely afford not to pay closer attention to mobile. Quite the contrary – brands need mobile more than ever to stay relevant…

And you can get additional information from eMarketer’s website.
