Sagem Wireless launched Binder, a white-label eReader product. Right from the start, they have two major customers on board – French retailer FNAC, which will start selling the device as FnacBook for 199 EUR; and Telecom Italia, which is planning to launch it at some point in November.
Specs wise, the Binder comes with a 6-inch Sipix ePaper capacitive touchscreen, accelerometer for automatic screen rotation, 3G and WiFi connectivity (as well as GPRS and EDGE), 2GB of internal storage, microSD memory card slot and a battery that comes with enough juice for more than 8000 page turns. As for the size, the device measures 152x123x10.7 mm and has a weight of 240 grams. Supported file formats include PDF, HTML, Epub and TXT; a number of image file types (JPEG, PNG, BMP) and MP3 music files.
Thanks to the mentioned capacitive touchscreen, users can not only read books and magazines, but also take notes while doing so…
