Motorola announced that the Motoroi X, which we also know as Verizon’s Droid X, is heading to Mexico. Specs wise, the Motoroi X is identical to its Droid brother, except that it’s a GSM as opposed to CDMA-based device. In other words, expect the same huge 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen, 3G (HSPA) and WiFi connectivity, 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and HD video recording capability, GPS, HDMI out and of course a microSD memory card slot.
Also interesting is the fact that this will be the first Android 2.2 device sold in Mexico. I assume some of the existing Android smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S and HTC Desire will also get the Froyo update in the next couple of weeks, maybe even days.
In terms of availability, Moto’s Android superphone should be launched later this month via Iusacell, which is the third largest mobile operator in the country. No words on pricing, though.
