Sagem Wireless launches NFC-enabled COSY Phone

Sagem Wireless launched a new feature phone with NFC (Near Field Communications) capabilities – COSY Phone. The French company emphasizes product’s ergonomic features — including high contrast legible fonts, an easy-to-use menuing system and “innovative recharger cradle” — that “improve comfort and usability” and make the COSY Phone ideal for the growing seniors market.

Feature wise, we’re talking about an entry-level 3G phone with such features as a 2.2-inch QVGA display, (optional) HSPA connectivity, 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, web browser, media player, 128MB of internal memory that’s further expandable with microSD cards. As for the size, it measures 112×49.3×12.99 mm and has a weight of 95 grams.

Finally, in terms of availability, the COSY phone will first hit France, UK and Ireland with other European markets to follow shortly. It will be available both as a SIM-free product and through carriers when users will be able to get it for less (maybe even free) with a contract signed…
