Dell XCD28, XCD35 Android smartphones announced for India

Dell announced two Android all-touchscreen smartphones for India – XCD28 and XCD35. Both devices have not been unveiled anywhere else which is kinda strange. One would assume Dell doesn’t want to miss the fast-growing smartphone market in India, hence they’ve hired contractors to make handsets on their behalf.

Anyway, the difference between the two phones is in the screen size – while the XCD28 comes with a 2.8-inch display, the XCD35’s capacitive touchscreen measures 3.5 inches. We guess that the different screen sizes also come with different resolutions but that’s not confirmed (nor denied) in Dell’s press release.

Aside from that, the two phones rock same hardware that includes a 3.2-megapixel camera, 3G and WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth, FM radio and other “standard for Android” goodies like GPS and microSD memory card slot, though these are not mentioned either.

The XCD28 is already available for purchase for Rs 10,990 ($246), whereas the XCD28 will hit the store shelves at some point in December when interested folks will be able to grab it for Rs 16,990 ($380)…
