SciVisum, the company that provides “dynamic website monitoring” services, is extending the reach to the iOS platform. Touted as the “first monitoring solution for iPhone apps,” iPhone Application Monitor basically does for the iPhone apps what SciVisum’s main service does for websites – makes sure everything is running smoothly.
Tesco, which is already using SciVisum’s website solution, is the company’s first customer. The retail chain’s iPhone app was launched on September 10th and has been downloaded by more than 300,000 users thus far.
Commenting on the iPhone service launch, Matthew Briggs who is a Service Manager at Tesco.com, said: “SciVisum responded quickly to the iPhone app launch and developed the new mobile service to replicate and monitor how the iPhone app performs for our customers. We can test the multiple journeys that customers take through the grocery site to ensure it is working effectively for them. An alert is sent if any aspect of the app or website is not working.”
At the moment, iPhone Application Monitor seems made for enterprises, but I’ve no doubts SMB customers will get such a service in the near future too, whether provided by SciVisum or some other company…
