Perhaps you have a basement with retro-cool 60’s wood paneling on the walls… Or perhaps you are an audiophile with good taste in everything musical. Whatever the case, if you’d find a wooden iPhone dock that promises to amplify sound without additional power or components… read on.

The Koostik wood iPhone dock is built out of, well, wood. It’s built using the same principles as some of the most common instruments… the shape and materials used actually amplify sound without the need for any additional power or components. Neat! Old-school meets new-school!

Check out the video above. It gives a clear demonstration of how the thing works. No need to plug anything in… just turn on the music and slide your iOS-powered device into the dock. No speakers, no power, no anything… all it does is amplify the sound, plain and simple.

So how much would you expect to pay for an iPhone dock made out of wood? $5? $500? The answer is between $85 and $90, depending on the materials you choose. Yes, my son, choose your wood carefully (I don’t know what that means). Six different combos are available, and models are crafted to support all generations of iPhone.

Note: an iPad stand is coming soon from Koostik too!
