Verizon Wireless customers who travel from time to time are obviously looking for ways to keep their phone while travelling abroad. As you may know, roaming is for super rich, hence you want a local number. In other words, most phones offered by the Big Red carrier won’t work, but some will.
Motorola Droid 2 Global is one device that sings along both CDMA and GSM-based network, allowing you to keep using it even while visiting Europe (for instance). Simply insert a local SIM card and you’re already saving a ton on calls and messages.
Verizon is selling the device for $199.99 on a two-year contract and after $100 mail-in rebate. You can get it for less thanks to Wirefly – they ask for $100 less and there are no rebates involved.
However, if you’re existing Verizon customer, you’ll have to pay $50 more ($149.99), while for add-a-line plans, the price is $129.99.
Interested? Good to hear that – now select you Droid 2 Global color – white or gray.
