The Samsung Nexus S wouldn’t be a true Google phone if the search giant wasn’t giving it away at every opportune moment. Through their new Nexus Twitter account, Google is giving away Nexus S Android handsets to those who are clever enough to figure out the answers to their challenges. It looks like challenge #2 (“There is more than meets the eye at http://goo.gl/MKoc8. You’ll find the answer in a tweet.”) is probably already won, but the contest is running until December 16, giving away up to 10 handsets. Challenge #3 looks like it could yield some interesting results: “We <3 gingerbread. On Dec16 send us a pic of your best gingerbread creation. Inspiration: http://twitpic.com/3682u2”
The Samsung Nexus S is Google’s flagship phone for Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and most notably launching with near-field communications built in for contactless payments and other uses. The specs are decent, and about what you’d expect from a high-end Android phone these days: a 4-inch 480 x 800 touchscreen, 1GHz hummingbird processor, Wi-Fi b/g/n, 3G on T-Mobile’s AWS bands, GPS, and a 5 megapixel camera on the back plus VGA camera for on the front for video conferencing.
Follow @googlenexus and turn on SMS alerts if you want to get in on the contest, just make sure to read up on their official rules before getting too excited. U.S., Canada, and U.K. residents are all eligible.
