How many times have you spotted an item on sale at Best Buy and wondered if it was available somewhere else or if it received positive reviews? If you are an iPhone owner, you can now fire up Google Shopper for all your on-the-go product information needs. A post on its mobile blog confirmed that the search giant has brought its popular shopping application, Google Shopper, to the Apple iPhone.
Similar to the Android version, Google Shopper for the iPhone lets you research products on your phone while you are in the store. Besides product information, the shopping application lets you access user reviews as well as online and local pricing for items of interest. Some retailers even support inventory so you can see which stores have your item in stock. If you’re not ready to buy, you can also save products for further research or share an item or two with your friends.
Google Shopper incorporates the search giant’s Voice Search feature to let you find a product using speech-to-text technology. Alternately, you can search manually for a product or use your camera to scan a barcode. While there are similar applications already available in the App Store, the shopping application has direct access to the company’s other services such as Offers which could tie-in to future versions of the application. If you are interested, the time and money-saving shopping tool is available for free from the iTunes App Store.
