AT&T announced that it is launching a new feature that lets customers make unlimited calls to other mobile numbers regardless of the wireless carrier. So yeah, all you AT&T iPhone owners can call your Verizon counterparts without using any of your metered minutes.
The feature is available to AT&T customers with an unlimited messaging plan and qualifying Nation and FamilyTalk calling plans. Folks that are interested in the Unlimited Mobile to Any Mobile program can visit AT&T’s website and sign up starting Thursday, February 10th.
This new mobile initiative is one of several promotions that A&T recently introduced. Last month, the wireless carrier was planning to debut new text messaging plans, a free femtocell program for those with poor coverage and a handset trade-in program.
Circulating reports also suggest AT&T was re-instating unlimited data plans to iPhone customers who had the unlimited plan in the past and swapped it out for the current 2GB plan. From the looks of it, AT&T is boosting its value-added plan options in an effort to keep customers happy and lower their churn rate as it tries to compete with the Verizon iPhone 4 and the growing 4G networks of its competitors.
