Mobile software developer SPB Software is teaming-up with Spatial View, a pioneer in stereo 3D auto-stereoscopic technologies, to showcase the first glasses-free stereoscopic 3D mobile UI for Android. The new software apparently comes with “full navigation capabilities,” featuring an all-encompassing home screen with animated 3D widgets, 3D folders and customizable panels in stereoscopic 3D.
I still haven’t seen this live, but we definitely intend to hop over to SPB’s and/or Spatial View’s booth(s) and check how this looks first-hand. SPB Software is well-known for their cross-platform UI software SPB Mobile UI, giving them enough experience to pull this out.
Commenting on the news, SPB’s CEO Sebastian-Justus Schmidt said: “By partnering with Spatial View and combining our flagship SPB UI Engine with Spatial View’s leading auto-stereo 3D display technologies, we are able to demonstrate a very compelling stereo 3D UI platform for readily creating highly responsive stereoscopic 3D user interface solutions. Indeed, our stereo 3D UI framework aptly complements existing stereoscopic content based solutions in the market.
