We just caught a glimpse of a new feature recently announced by Sprint and Google: Google Voice integration with Sprint! Bet you didn’t see that one coming. We’re already pretty familiar with how Google Voice works, and we did catch all the details about how it will integrate with all Sprint devices in the future. But today, Sprint and Google decided to make life a little easier for us by walking us through a demo.
The set-up is pretty easy and it took just a few minutes to get a device set up. It’s as easy as setting up an actual Google Voice account. We were shown the process for setting up your number online, confirming with the code given to you after the system calls you, and getting set up. That’s it!
There really wasn’t much else to see except a Sprint phone getting set up with Google Voice. You get all the benefits of Google Voice, which means one number that rings all your phones, as well as voicemail transcriptions, the ability to make calls from the web, block phone numbers and even set a “Do Not Disturb” time when you don’t want to be bothered.
