Seems like every spring, when spring is in the air and it’s time for The Masters golf tournament (in my opinion, the best golf tourney in the world!), I always find myself writing up a little post about their app. This year is no different.
The Masters app for iPhone was recently updated for the 2011 tournament, which is taking place on April 4th through 10th 2011 in Augusta, Georgia. Available as a free download, you can use it to view live streams of video content, check on the latest news, read (and watch) interviews, and much more. There’s even a nifty course overview that breaks down each hole with images and flyover videos. If you can’t get enough of The Masters and the Augusta National Golf Club, this is the app for you.
Of course, you’re also going to get real-time scoring when you install this one, but in a recent update to version 3.0 you can expect to notice these new features:
- Five channels of live streaming video (more streams than ever before)
- Live updates of notable events
- Push notifications
- Updated in-app navigation and layout (cleaner and easier to use)
It’s worth noting that all video is available as long as you’re connected via WiFi or 3G. However, this content is available for viewing in the U.S. only (I can already hear the groans and complaining from Canadians, and from over in Europe and Asia… hopefully this will change in time for next years edition).
So there you have it. To grab your copy, simply hit up the download link below… and enjoy, The Masters!
