Sprint ad campaign focuses on unlimited features, missing CEO Dan Hesse

For the past few years, we’ve grown accustomed to seeing Sprint ads with spokesman and CEO Dan Hesse. Our earliest memories of these are the black and white ads where Hesse talks about Sprint’s advantages, and the carrier’s commitment to the customer experience. This time around, it looks like Sprint is switching gears and focusing on its strengths by showing customers what they can do with the carrier’s unlimited plans.

In its latest ad, Sprint shows what you can do with unlimited data, text and voice, and that you never have to worry about overages and keeping track of usage while on the go.

Instead of Dan Hesse walking up to a camera or sitting in a car explaining what’s going on, it’s just a series of videos and images with The Beatles song “All Together Now” being covered by a different artist in the background. It also happens to be the carrier’s new tagline: “All. Together. Now.”

With the possibility of AT&T and T-Mobile merging, Sprint is really going to have to fight to stay alive as the third and last place carrier amongst two giants. Currently the third largest carrier, Sprint definitely has an edge in its pricing plan packages – they’re priced very competitively and just about every option offers unlimited data and SMS. Playing up these strengths, as they’re doing now, is really a smart move.
