Last year, Square Enix released an iPhone exclusive title called Chaos Rings which saw an iPad release months later. The game was deemed a huge success by critics and has been one of Square Enix’s most popular games to date. As you would expect with very popular and successful games, Square Enix has released a prequel to Chaos Rings called Chaos Rings Omega.
Chaos Rings Omega takes players 10,000 years before the events of Chaos Rings. You play as Vieg who makes his way to the Ark Arena in order to fight to death as well as tell the story that lead to the events that occurred in Chaos Rings.
The game also uses the same turn-based battle system Chaos Rings did which allows you to choose between solo moves or paired moves that allow both characters to work together in their attacks, which in turn results in more effective attacks. As you defeat monsters, you’ll be able to obtain DNA information from them called genes, which can be equipped by players to learn that monster’s magic or special attacks.
If you played Chaos Rings and want to learn what happened 10,000 years in the past, then you’re going to want to pick this game up as knowing the full story can make the original game that much more interesting. It also should be noted the game is also available on the iPad, which is great as I prefer to play epic RPGs like these on it rather than my iPhone.
