T-Mobile HTC Sensation and retail box spotted in the wild

With the HTC Sensation set to be unleashed not long from now we aren’t all that surprised to see the handset itself and its retail packaging spotted in the wild.  For those of you who are itching for June 8th to come faster than it is, the pictures below may ease your pain.

The Sensation will be T-Mobile’s second dual-core Android handset, the G2X being the first. Instead of the 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, the Sensation will ship with the 1.2 GHz Qualcomm dual-core processor. We’ll be sure to put these two handsets head to head in some benchmark tests when we get our hands on the Sense-toting Sensation.

Not only will the sexy handset rock a dual-core processor, it will feature HTC Sense 3.0, 8 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture, front-facing camera for video chat, a 4.3 inch qHD display, and support for T-Mobile’s HSPA+. Unfortunately you won’t be finding the support for the newer 42Mbps that Magenta recently announced for select markets but the Sensation should still satisfy.

Those of you on the fence about the Sensation and the G2X should ask yourself what you’re looking to do with the handset. If you’re one who likes to tinker with your phones then you may want to go with the G2X since it’s pretty easy to root and hack, where HTC has been nice enough to lock the bootloader of the Sensation. A locked bootloader will slow down the development behind the device and until it is unlocked there will be no custom ROMs. Then again, G2X development doesn’t seem to be where it should be at the moment in terms of custom ROMs.

Either way, both the Sensation and the G2X are great handsets that won’t do you wrong.
