ViewSonic is expanding its tablet line with a new product – ViewBook 730, an Android 2.2-running 7-inch tablet. Aside from a small-ish (resistive?) WVGA screen (depending how you look at it), the device also comes with an ARM Cortex-A8 1Ghz processor, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth support, front-facing VGA camera (for video calls), 8GB of built-in storage that is further expandable with microSD cards. What’s more, a stylus is also included along with software for sketching and note taking.
Additionally, the ViewBook 730 is “fully integrated” with Amazon services, and comes with a number of apps preloaded, including Amazon’s AppStore, Amazon MP3 music downloader, Amazon Kindle, Twitter, Mediafly as well as other “standard” Android apps.
Finally, when it comes to availability, the ViewBook 730 will start selling at the end of June 2011 for $249.99. Barnes & Noble’s NOOK Color costs about the same and it seems to offer a better bang for the buck. What do you say?
