With all the serious news, rumors, and announcements going around the web these days, it’s always nice to see things like this. A new comic strip was posted by the guys at The Oatmeal, and included in a long list of thoughts about smartphones, one cartoon is of a usual conversation between a person that loves his/her Android phone and a person that’s an iPhone owner all the way. This picture is so accurate, it’s amazing. I’ve noticed that when it comes to Android owners, they are always trying to sell Andorid to non-users. They are basically the best marketing team Google can buy – wait they don’t pay us.
Now, iPhone owners are always on the defensive. I’ve read countless reviews, comments, and had many arguments that bring me to this conclusion. iPhone owners usually don’t try to sell their products for Apple, since Apple does it well enough on their own, but the users do a lot of talking regardless. iPhone 4 users defend themselves pretty well; whatever Apple does, they do it best. The usual response to criticism is “we have that feature and ours is better than yours.” It gets funny when they don’t have the feature they are arguing about, and then they usually say “we don’t need that, it’s stupid.” I’ve read that many times, and at the end of the day when they do get it, they are all very happy and say it’s the best feature in the world. Copy and paste, anyone?
That’s why this comic is so funny: because it’s correct on many levels. Any thoughts on this comic and how it relates to your usual iPhone vs. Android conversation? Do you get along with people who use a phone other than your preference? Be sure to check out the rest of the strip to see some reasons to both hate and love your smartphone.
