Samsung’s Android-powered QWERTY slider, SPH-M930, has been cleared by the FCC and is now, at least legally, ready to be sold on the U.S. soil. As far as we know (from that leaked roadmap), the official launch is set for September 2nd, leaving enough room for Boost to train its staff.
Specs wise, the M930 comes with Qualcomm’s 1GHz processor (not sure why Samsung hasn’t used its own CPU), HVGA touchscreen, mentioned QWERTY keyboard, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show. In a nutshell, we’re talking about a solid mid-ranger that should act pretty snappy not least thanks to that 1GHz processor. Now that I’m thinking, 1GHz CPUs have quickly emerged as a new norm for smartphones and I like that. Consumers have won and no one wants to tolerate a crappy slow experience on their mobile devices…
Anyway, if you’re into FCC details, you can check out the Samsung M930’s listing from this page.
