Almost missed this… Evernote, the note-taking service, recently announced the acquisition of popular image annotation application Skitch. This is the company’s first acquisition as its looks to expand its memory and idea capturing products.
As a result of this acquisition, Skitch co-founders Cris Pearson and Keith Lang will join Evernote to lead further Skitch development and growth. Also, Evernote has launched Skitch mobile app for Android, allowing users to capture, annotate and share images while on the go. Obviously, there’s an option to share those images with Evernote, as well as other apps and services.
The full version of Skitch for Mac which previously cost $19.99 is now free and available for download from the Mac App Store. Skitch for Android is free as well and new users can sign into Skitch with their Evernote credentials, while existing Skitch users can continue to access their Skitch accounts.
Of course this is just a start and in the future we’ll see even tighter integration of Skitch into Evernote…
