Samsung has started rolling-out a small update for the Wi-Fi only version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. The 3.22MB “heavy” download is said to address several of the problems Sammy’s TouchWiz UX have, making the device more stable than ever. Unfortunately, we don’t have the official change log and can only speculate about all of the changes included with this release.
Still we advise you to “push the button,” making sure your beloved tablet runs the latest version of the firmware at all times. Except if your Galaxy Tab 10.1 has been rooted and now runs a custom ROM.
We heard reports of some users having a problem updating their ClockworkMod-runnin’ Tabs. If you’re not in that group, you’re ready to proceed. However, if your tablet is rooted, we suggest waiting just a little longer. In any case, it’s good to have a backup of all your data prior to updating just in case (God forbids) something goes wrong.
To see if the update is “ready for you,” go to “Settings,” then “About Tablet” and finally “Software Update.”
