AT&T’s Samsung Infuse 4G gets a small firmware update and it’s not Gingerbread

AT&T has released a small firmware update for the Samsung Infuse 4G and it’s not Gingerbread. Rather, the 14.5MB heavy download is a maintenance update that fixes some of the known bugs, improves stability and performance, and so on. I bet it hurts that you have to wait for the Korean company and AT&T to finish with their testing and finally release the Gingerbread update — that’s presuming you own the Samsung Infuse 4G.

The good (and old) news is that AT&T recently promised that all of its new Android phones, Infuse 4G included, will get the Gingerbread treatment at some point. We can only hope that won’t happen at a time when other devices start getting the Ice Cream Sandwich updates, cause that would be kinda ironical.

Anyway, we advise you to keep your software up to date, so if you’re battery if fully charged – feel free to proceed.., not that you needed anyone’s permission, of course… 😉
