The long-awaited iPhone 5 is getting agonizingly closer to being real and a leaked photo may give us a bit more insight into what we can expect from Apple’s next smartphone.
According to some leaked component shots over on PhoneArena, the iPhone 5 will sport an A5 processor, a larger battery and a slightly larger display. All of these elements make sense and go along with rumors that we’ve heard before.
The iPad 2 sports the A5 processor, so it’s just a matter of time until that finds its way into the iPhone. This dual-core chip should give the iPhone 5 some major horsepower which app developers will be able to take advantage of.
The blue thing on the left side of the image is the display and it appears to go edge to edge, like we’ve previously heard. We’re thinking and hoping that this will mean a 4-inch Retina Display on the iPhone 5, although that may present some scaling issues for the existing App Store catalog. The battery also appears to be slightly larger, which would make sense if you had a larger screen.
So, we’re again hearing that the iPhone 5 will have a larger display, an A5 processor and it will also likely get an 8-megapixel camera to boot. We’re still refreshing our invite for an Apple media invite for the official launch, so let’s hope we won’t have to wait too long.
