Sony’s new Reader app works with Sony Tablets only

Sony decided to offer something exclusive to everyone who bought the brand new Tablet S (and got a Bravia TV for free?). Unfortunately that “exclusive” thing is the Reader app, which at the moment only works on Sony tablets. Why that’s the case is beyond me – don’t they want to reach as many users/readers as humanly possible?

Anyway, those of you who don’t own the Tablet S but some other Android tablet will be able to grab the same application at some point in “early December.” That’s, of course, presuming you actually need Sony’s app – Amazon’s Kindle will work for 90% of tablet users, if not 100%.

We’re not sure what to make of it. I like Sony’s Tablet S, but it’s definitely not my top pick. Asus’ Transformer deserves that spot in the 10-inch tablets category, while overall I prefer the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, which is perfectly sized though unfortunately lacks Super AMOLED Plus screen (like the Galaxy Tab 7.7) to make for the vivid colors.
