Expansys has started taking pre-orders for the “wondrous” Samsung Galaxy W, asking 285 GBP (about $439) for the device. Needless to say that’s the price of an unlocked, SIM-free phone which you can use with any network you want.
Don’t want to pay the full price? No problem – O2 and Three can get you the same phone free of charge as long as you put your signature on a two-year contract. The latter has an especially cool deal which requires you to pour out 22 GBP per month, while offering 100 minutes, 5,000 texts and 500MB of mobile data. If that’s not good enough for you, there’s “The One Plan” that costs 30 GBP/month and includes 2,000 minutes, 5,000 texts and unlimited data. I assume O2 has a similar offering.
As a reminder, the Galaxy W rocks a 1.4GHz processor, 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive S-LCD touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera on the back, front-facing VGA camera, HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS and other “standard for Android” goodies…
