Yesterday I talked about 30 essentail apps I installed on my brand new Samsung Galaxy S II. Today I want to share my home screens with you.
As a productivity freak, I’m constantly trying to get more things done during the day and in that sense I organized my phone’s home screen, as well. The 4 home screens I’m using should reflect this… or so I think. Here are the apps and widgets I use throughout the day, hence they are promptly placed for quick access.
Screen 1
Widgets:
- Clock – for some reason clicking on the clock on Samsung’s Android smartphones doesn’t open the Clock app
- Google search
- Smooth Calendar – very simple calendar widget from which I start GCal-like Touch Calendar
Apps:
- Boxroid – I use box.net for syncing files from computer to the phone
- Dolphin Browser HD – I love it much more than the built-in browser
- Clock – because Sammy’s clock widget can’t start the Clock app
- Flashlight – so I don’t have to turn on the lights when entering the bedroom and my girlfriend is sleeping
Screen 2
- GTasks widget – I use it as a shopping list and things I need to accomplish during the day
- SNS folder – where links to popular social networking apps are – Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Facebook, HootSuite and YouTube
Apps:
- Android Market
- Gallery
- Camera
- Astro File Manager
- ezPDF Reader
- Chrome to Phone
- AccuWeather
- Google Reader
- Pulse News
- Google Maps
- Wi-Fi Settings
Screen 3
Widgets:
- Note widget
- Power widget
- Evernote widget
Apps:
- Gmail app
- Gmail web shortcut – I use it to quickly delete spam
- Listen podcast client
Screen 4
- Full screen agenda widget that shows all my calendars
Now I want to know how your home screen(s) look like. Which widgets and apps do you use?
