Apple iPhone 4S unboxing and initial impressions [Video]

The IntoMobile team camped out all night to be one of the first in line to get the iPhone 4S this morning and it was quite an exciting scene because we wound up being the first customers out of the store with a brand new iPhone 4S. Check out our unboxing video below.

As you may know by now, the iPhone 4S is very similar in its design to the iPhone 4, particularly the Verizon version which I compare it to in the video. There are some slight differences but basically if didn’t look closely, it would be hard to tell what version a person was rocking. Like your momma told you though, what’s on the inside is what’s important.

The iPhone 4S has a dual-core A5, an improved 8-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 4.0 and other hardware improvements but what really shines is the iOS 5 software. You immediately notice this when you first turn on the phone because you don’t have to plug it in to a computer to activate it – simply tap through a few menus, pump in your Apple ID and password and you’re off and running. You can choose to plug it in to a computer for quicker syncing of your apps and contacts or you can do that over the air.

One of the major compelling features of the iPhone 4S is the voice-controlled assistant Siri, which lets you use natural language to make searches, send texts, play music, dictate e-mails and texts, and more. We’re just starting to really play around with it and learn its limitations but it’s a neat way to interact with your device.

We’ll have much, much more for you coming soon, so check out the video below and let us know what you think.
