The Guardian has updated its Android app, fixing some of the known bugs (like scrolling on the homescreen) while also introducing new features. After updating, you’ll notice a new layout for live blogs, pinch zooming capability and the ability to download content and images to a microSD card. In addition, now you can set the “check for new news” option to “never” which can be handy for preserving the battery life. Moreover, series tags are now included, Favourites (yes that’s with “ou”) appear on the homescreen, and offline download notifications have a new icon and clear when tapped.
In a nutshell, if you enjoy The Guardian’s content and you also happen to own an Android-based device, you’ll want to have their app running on your smartphone and/or tablet. It’s just convenient to have a favorite news source available at your disposal at any given moment. Or at least that’s the way I’m thinking about. What do you say?
