Fresh off leaks of the HTC Edge, our friends over at BGR have an exclusive report on another new HTC smartphone which should be quite an appealing device. The HTC Ville will reportedly have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Sense 4.0 and it will be thinner than the iPhone at 8 mm.
The report also says that the HTC Ville will have a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display, a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon Series 4 processor, 8-megapixel camera, have HSPA+ capabilities, rock a 1,650 mAh battery and it should have a mostly metal construction. While it won’t be a quad-core like the Edge is supposed to be, it seems like a powerful, sleek HTC handset and we’re expecting this to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress tradeshow in February. The Ville name is a code name, so expect it to launch under a different name when it’s available to buy.
What really interests me is how HTC will adopt Sense to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The 4.0 version of the platform has a more coherent visual approach than nearly any other version of Android before it but HTC has invested a ton of resources into its Sense user interface. While it shouldn’t be too difficult to change the visual approach of Ice Cream Sandwich, you have to wonder if it will be dramatically different than the Android experience others have.
