Remember the LG Optimus Pro, the Korean company’s low-end Android smartphone with BlackBerry-like form factor? Well it has been launched by Canada’s Fido as LG Gossip Pro. Not sure whether the name change was needed, but what do I know. Specs are the same and include a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen with full QWERTY keyboard beneath, 3-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth and a memory card slot.
As for the price, Fido is selling the Gossip Pro for $40 on a two-year contract or for $250 sans any paperwork.
Now I do understand folks who like the BlackBerry-like devices, but I’m not sure this is the phone they want. The HTC ChaCha is a much better option (especially for Facebook addicts) and so is the Motorola (DROID) Pro, though I’m not sure those two are offered by Fido.
