Today is a special day, people – Motorola will be launching its latest device, the Droid RAZR, at 11:11 am. Oh yes, as precious minutes begin to tick away, now is the time to salivate over this slender beast of a phone (check out our review of the Motorola Droid RAZR here). Many folks will probably run to get this handsets, but for those of you not willing to shell out a whopping $299 may want to check out Amazon Wireless’s launch day deal.
Why check out Amazon Wireless you ask? Well, the company has decided to go with Verizon’s all-11’s gimmick by conducting its own promotion. This is significant because Amazon has the Droid RAZR for the unbelievable price of $111.11 with a two-year contract , but for a limited time only. Before you jump up for joy, you must first hear the catch (of course there’s always one, right?).
The catch is, only brand new Verizon customers will be able to capitalize on Amazon’s sick promo price, while existing customers looking to upgrade still get a $50 discount — I know, it’s not much but it’s better than nothing. The other caveat is the really long wait involved. The Droid RAZR is already backordered, which means anyone who places a new order now won’t get their device shipped for another 8 or 9 days! If you have a zen-like patience this shouldn’t be a problem. Amazon is also tossing in their usual promo of $100 in Amazon store credit if you activate mobile hotspot on the phone.
The Motorola Droid RAZR is impressive, with its ultra-slim semi-Kevlar 7.1 mm body (yes, we’re shallow like that) packed with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display, and 8-megapixel camera makes it hard to pass up.
For those of you thinking about taking the Amazon Wireless deal head over here. Who’s running to the nearest Verizon store to scoop up this beauty?
