With Turkey Day approaching quickly, many are preparing to visit their families, enjoy some great food and watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Macy’s announced today its first official Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade application for both the Android Market and iOS App Store just before its annual event in New York City and this will let you use your smartphone to watch the spectacle.
This app gives users the oppertunity to see a list of parade participants, detailed history, a gallery, and traffic cameras for multiple angles, which is perfect for those who don’t feel like walking all over the place in search for the perfect view. If you happen to be in New York this Thursday, the app also provides a number of features to help get around town, including dining locations, nearby and parade route Wifi spots, a full subway map, and nearby restrooms.
All in all this is a pretty cool app, if I were in New York I would definitely use this because it seems really convenient. Even if you’re watching it on television, the app could augment that experience by giving your more angles and information. Unfortunately, this app will only work on Android and iOS smartphones, so tablets aren’t supported. If you want to give the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade application a spin, hit the link for iOS or Android.
