Sprint and Samsung have started rolling out a new firmware update for the Epic 4G Touch smartphone, which as you know is the carrier’s version of the Galaxy S II. Software version S:D710.0.5S.EK02 will address a nagging signal failure issue, making your on-the-go web schmoozing that much pleasant. So it’s nothing major, but definitely worth checking out.
The update is being pushed to the users as we speak, though you shouldn’t panic if you still don’t see it. It’s one of those staged releases, meaning you’ll get it in the next couple of days — Sprint says it should reach 100% of Epic 4G Touch users within 10 days.
It is suggested that your battery has a 50% charge or better when applying the update. We like to have our phones fully charged when doing this sort of things, so we have enough juice both to get the new software and keep using the phone like nothing has happened. 😉
